Deadline: 20 April 2011 Open to: all video artists and video creators (individuals, groups or organizations) of any nationality, sex, age and background. Award: participation of artist’s project on first International Video Art Exhibition in Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, in June 2011. Theme. We defined theme of the exhibition as “Pease and diversity” as a reflection on the events happen in today’s world. Political, economic life influences on the changes in social behavior and the ways it influences are different as the results of it. As an act or reflection on the metamorphoses happen today we want to show how artist from different countries around the world perceive those events and world changes. Eligibility. We are open to every creator (individuals, groups or organizations) of any nationality, sex, age and background. Application. The proposed video can be of any genre (video art, experimental video, animation, photo presentation, short movie etc.). Duration under 35 minutes. Applicants can apply their previous video-art works or create new original video composition. There is no entry fee. Deadline: April 20, 2011. Video submission. Video works should be sending by post or be downloaded to the any free upload/download service or via your personal website putting passwords and sending link and password to us by e-mail. Accepted formats: DVD, uncompressed movie files .avi or .mov (data DVD or CD) Applicants need to send filled entry form in a Word file format, with a still image or a photograph for each video (tiff or jpg, 800x600pixels, 72 dpi) to the following e-mail address:

. After the deadline will be announced results of chosen works for exhibition. Video requirements - not less than two minute and not more than thirty five minutes long - must be made by applicant - be of good quality - should include an intro screen that details the project name and author name 12.05.10. 22.10.09. The first exhibition of the project: October 1-3, 2009, Almaty, Tengri-Umai Gallery. 113 photos by 47 artists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. STILLSParticipants: artists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and other countries. Curators: Oksana Shatalova (Kazakhstan), Boris Chukhovich (Canada). Media: photography with technical interference of any degree. Duration: May 2009 – May 2010. Events: 3 exhibitions (Almaty, Dushanbe, Bishkek), release of the DVD. Goals: - Curatorial research in artistic way (“reconnaissance in force”) – in order to create photo network STILLS. - Hyperbolized “presentation” of CA art through simple and polemical concepts - ATTRACTION, LOCALITY, ENTHUSIASM. The first 2 concepts depict “strategic vectors” of our art. The third – existential and naïve, brings a feeling of openness to the future. OutcomeThree mosaic photo-films made of photos by various artists presenting Central Asian Anthology of Images. An original sound track was composed for each of the films. Each of the films was displayed as a video installation at separate exhibitions.
This project is an open experiment which combines collective and individual approaches, analytical and creative thinking. Its idea relates to the written work “Visual Translations of Humanitarian Concepts” by Canadian and British scholars (Daniel Simeoni, Alexis Nouss, Boris Chukhovich).
